Graven Gods
05:06

A fateful walk on frost-dimmed fells
Where borders blend with keyless door
The cold winds hold no kiss, nor bite
The bell is still, the bonds no more
To earthen holds of rime and rust
By icy stone, by snow-choked day
Of darkling places and darker lusts
That cloak our tripled lord away
Looming, marrowed marker
For graven gods in echelon
Crowns horizon and frames the portal
A fleshless finger that beckons me on
Neath hollowed hills and hidden hall
Thrice round the earthen tomb I crept
There they lay, four flowered brides
In deathless slumber, no sign of breath
The sword hangs pitted, silver now grey
Strangled silence kills the songless day
The throne lay vacant, the harp unstrung
No hint of light, no moon, no sun
A place for kings, for battles that are lost
The murdered masses heaped all around me
The pride of youth's bloom has turned to frost
Grave-chewed bone the silent host
The hangman's hand kindles in my grip
A tongue of flame to call the kindred
Astride each maid I let the tallow drip
And taste the lips of those who called
At once a fevered lust enfolds me as pallid limbs encircle mine
In homage to the seat before us, our need a hunger, in service to his rise
RISE!!
In every shadowed corner, on every shattered bone
This place will see us humbled and bent before his throne
The form it speaks
And the name it burns
The stones they crack
The Graven God of the Lightless Flame is back
Aloft my lord, from vacant womb
Take up your blade and crush the heathen
The graven lord is now awakened
Upon this heath, where I once walked

A Dream of Pan
05:09
|

Prelude:
Into my loneliness comes --
The sound of a flute in dim groves that haunt the uttermost hills.
Even from the brave river they reach to the edge of the wilderness.
And I behold Pan.
I lived there a lifetime ago and worked in the basement room from time to time
But never too close to the bricked up arch against the far wall
At times I imagined I heard something there
a soundless sigh
a whisper that echoed from within and below
There was no record of where it led and I dreamed about its legacy
A different house, a darker host
A place set at the table for one who has never come but shall hunger when he does
of a god in bone
Every night, the same dream, the same glimpse of witchery
The faithful, clothe themselves in the skins of lost children
Half-alive, bleeding freely from the knives of the slattern
Down the steps, dragged by legs to the waiting archway
A sudden thrust of my arm met nothing
So I turned, toward my rooms and my nightmares
Did I hear a faint whisper, then another?
Then a soundless sigh hanging there?
But all ablaze, the shrine to foulness fell and the faithful sealed behind that wall
—--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A silence, then a whisper, then a dream unbidden
Of this house, but before, in a different time
When the faithful kept their fane in a lightless grotto
in the cellar of this house, centuries long ago
Alone, I have lived in this crumbling corner
Of a street overlooked and unloved by the throng
Every darkened doorway has known my footfall
Every beam and cellar has felt my touch
The dreams, they persist and bewitch (my mind)
Draw me down to the cellar.....to the seat of it all
An archway of mortared stone and rotten brick
Is the scene for lost ritual and sacrifice
Forgotten glories and heedless sins
Flash before my eyes
Shown the path, beholden to him
That I yearn to see
The cleaving whispers, the graveling call
Set me on my way
When I awake, every brick lies in pieces
And a square of pure black draws my eye
Specters flit before me!
in service to those that sleep beyond
The grotesque call to those tiny dead
Lifted up, lurching, heaving to and fro
Then they came, from stench-filled pools
Their whisper, a scream from my rotten lips
Fleshless faces speak a silent song
as sightless sockets glow without flame
Rejoin my kin that haunt clammy depths
Where we dead dream a dream of Pan
You've found us!
Horror!
Come with us!
Come down!

The Offering
05:50
|

With quickened pulse I scan the shadowed shores of Scholomance
The lapping lake that shrouds the deaded lore of sorcery
Weirdling coils of cold enclose me, as mists deny my eyes
But nothing short of death will halt my purpose here this night
Across black depths, I leave my mortal cares behind
The silence here is absolute
Desire drives me, on to the darkest shore
A pupil of the Eldritch art
With grimmest grove and cruelest crag behind
A faceless figure greets me there
Within I go, no longer for the day
One foot upon the spiral stair
Vaulted halls neath barrowed earth, become my haunted hearth
Amongst the dead, I sleep and dream, this knowledge now a curse
The hour is come, I kneel by his seat
Awaiting a turn to please my master
Choking back bile, I do as I'm told
The price is paid in full
A final lesson, a final glimpse
The master rises to our chanting
Reveals himself and I scream once and then
My mind lies dreaming by the lakeside
Ten will strive
Yet all must take life
All power was mine
Yet all men… must die
